Haltech Mounting Bracket - External Modules...?

Hello Haltech Gurus!

We're currently working with TurboJeff to do a fresh run of his Power-FC brackets for the FD3S.

If you're not familiar with the product, it's pretty great... here's a review:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...acket-1091329/

I thought it would be cool to redesign the holder to accommodate Haltech Elite boxes and offer it to guys that want a cleaner solution for mounting their ECUs behind the kick panel.

My question revolves around OTHER accessories that we would want to mount under the kick panel. Obviously the ECU need provisions (studs) to mount to, the external CAN Wideband seems to be a logical choice... but what else?

In terms of the Power-FC, there is a spot for the ECU, datalogit and fan controller (if you run one). I'd like to try and account for anything that makes sense for Haltch guys.

in addition to my Elite i'm running the CAN wideband module, the CAN thermocouple amplifier, the CAN expansion hub, and the Haltech fuse/relay box, it was a pain fitting everything neatly under there, actually ran out of space and had to mount the TC amplifier in the engine bay.

a bracket would be really cool.

Wow! That’s a lot of stuff!

Do you have pictures of your install? How about links to all the different modules?

Is your install typical or a bit on the extreme side of things?

I made a plate that has the elite ECU and the aem V2 ai controller. I don't know what I'm going to do with the fuse box. I'd be interested in a better solution.

not home until next week but i'll post some photos then. i should have mentioned i mounted the ECU itself in the pax airbag compartment since i deleted it, and because the Haltech 13B harness had about an extra 2 feet of length to it, also the Haltech fuse box is pretty big, it would be near impossible to fit everything in the factory ECU kickpanel area, but if you can make a bracket to do all that, i'll be impressed. i guess this bracket might be more for the guys using the PnP patch harness that uses the factory fuse box.

4) CAN Expansion Hub
5) Fuse Box (?)

I figure the TCA2 / TCA4 are the same 'box' and the TCA8 is it's own box - so make it dully compatible if possible. The fuse box is a question mark because the PnP harness kinda renders it unnecessary - buuuut - might be good to account for if people aren't running the PnP.

Thoughts? What am I missing?

If you can fit all that where the stock ECU goes I will grant you a night with my girlfriend.

Just got word from Haltech that they are sending us an ECU, CAN Wideband, CAN Thermocouple Amp and a CAN Wxpansion Module so when we’re ready to start prototyping - we will have pieces in hand.

The parts are from the scrap / rerun bin... But hey! Can’t complain!

Haltech mount

I ended up using my Turbo Jeff PFC mount and manged to get the ECU, TCA, wideband controller & 6 port hub in stock location. I mounted the haltech fuse box in the engine bay fender side by the abs pump

You and Miss Uncle Hungry may need to talk.

But seriously, it’s promising.

honestly i would just be happy with just an ecu mount for the haltech elite 1500 (not PnP); mine is just laying on the passenger floor with the relay fuse box trying to figure out a clean way to mount them both, but things need to get really custom to make that work and nothing i could come up with will work.

a lot of folks have the haltech elite with the relay fuse box in their setup, and if you could make something to mount these 2 in harmony then more power to you and ill put my name first on the list.

i hope this becomes a real thing asap. cant wait.

This looks nice; I'd just be happy to fit the ECU and Fusebox behind the factory panel. I have 5 expander boxes so I don't expect them all to fit.

Dumb question here but here goes. Can you mount the Haltech under the hood? It seems like that would be the easiest way for my car. Thoughts?

I'm too busy to focus on this without getting paid to do so.

What I am doing is pretty rad though, which is adding a traction control system via front wheel ABS tone rings to the 1st Gen Rx7, which will be controlled by the Emtron KV8 ECU I'll be running. Stealing and averaging the two front wheels and plotting it against transmission speed will give me a reasonable idea of how/when to cut power. Individual front wheel speed variance allows for a faux-stability control to be implemented as well... Oh well, the sky is the limit on this one.

I'll have to take a look at another FD with Haltech Elite 1500 here soon and figure out where I'd want to mount everything. Kick Panels are dumb and ugly and it has to meet the approval of said girlfriends (in other words, if they don't see it, it's totally stock, right?!).

Curious to see what you guys come up with.

I have my haltech fuse box and 1500 ecu in the stock location and it a tight fit with just those two in there.

I have a GF now, so that's why I'm not updating y'all. Hahaha. I'll see if Jon wants to post his setup of what he did. It's pretty far out of the way in his car.
