Haltech Install Cost?

How much can I expect a professional shop to charge for an install on my haltech? Just looking for a ball park figure or maybe you had it done yourself.

I charge $500 for a typical install which includes factory EFI removal as well as a working base map to get the car driving. Takes me 1 to 2 days.

Wow, the locals here charge $1100 for a Microtech install and even more for a Haltech

Ideally you'd want someone reputable to do the job, and its important that they can do both the installation and the tuning, since most of the time if someone installs it and somebody else tunes it, if the installer made a mistake the tuner cant be responsible and they'd have to go over the whole thing again to troubleshoot, and that means paying twice.

But you can see anything from 400 on to 1000+ for installations+tuning, and depending on how its done, i know a few people who do an awesome harness work, that makes the install be more expensive, and i also seen people just do WOT tuning on a dyno leaving the car barely streetable.

In the end, if you wanna do it your self, and its the first time you've done it, i will strongly suggest you take it to someone, it will be less stressful, it will get done right, and much quicker too.

Thanks guys for the info. I did have the haltech installed. Just wanted to see if I was paying a reasonable rate. Looks like I am. Paid $700. I am also set for tuning at the end of the month, with Steve Kan.
