Talking Haltech e6k what laptop to use?

Hi

Ok so im about to get a haltech e6k and I am not shure what laptop to get i know im going to need a serial port in the back of the laptop or have a usb to serial adaptor. So my question is can i get a laptop off like ebay or something that is running windows xp or windows 2000 because i think the haltech runs in dos mode? Or will i need an old dinosaur thats running win95 or 98?

Just get any Dell 600 series laptop, they are very good and always have serial port.

D600, C600, etc etc., as long as its got a 6xx model number you'll be good.

I like the old Toshiba Librittos cause they fit inside your glove box, only you gotta use a usb to db9 connector, and also find a libretto with usb. They are such a cool device for being so old.
