with haltec will the fd stil need the coolant level sensor?

well i just took the 2miles of electrical tape off the stock harness and then while looking @ all the connections that will be needed for haltec. i noticed that i dint see one for the coolant level sensor, is it still retained, or am i just retarted and its on the other half of the harness?
thanks guys

the reason why i ask is b/c im abt to send the rest of my engine off to be bling blingified and if i dont need it ill get the hole filed up, and polished over

Bacon, it will depend, do you have a warning buzzer for it. If you do, then you will need to rewire it back. Study the schematics a little before ripping the thing apart.

On my installation, Ihad to rewire a few things like the cruise control, wiper motor and the coolant temp sensor wire. Even thought the ecu didn't use them, they where taped into that side of my harness.

If for some reason you have problems with the buzzer then you pulled something off that shouldn't have been removed. If you want to remove the sensor just take the wire that goes to the sensor (it is draped over the waterpump inlet) and ground that wire. That will stop the buzzer from sounding.

My advice, keep the sensor if you can. It is a good warning system when it works properly.

im starting to think its on the other side of the harness, but i may be wrong, god i wish i was home and could play with it

Bacon: The coolant level harness (single wire) goes from the sensor to the main harness that stays in the car. You know the one w/ the ignition harness on it. Simply connect them and it works. I believe the thermoswitch for the fans and the coolant gauge wires are the only ones that need to come through the engine wiring harness.

I've included a pic of the broken down stock harness:

From top to bottom:
transmission harness
CAS harness
fuel injector harness
thermoswitch connector
throttle position & BAC harness
coolant gauge connector
coolant level sensor connector

Spyfish, You might be able to help me. After ripping out my wiring harness with a hard on, the only thing i cant find for the life of me is the wire for the low level sensor. Scarey enough, and go ahead and laugh, i have gone as far as removing the little buzzer from the black box its installed in. I know its probably right there in my face, you said it should be in the harness with the ignition harness????

theres a wire on the main harness (white end clips to the coolant level sensor) that runs over by the ps pump and connects to the other harness(ignition harness) this clip is balck..the wires abt 1 ft long..just take some time and look @ your harness its gonna be one of the farthest connections from the ecu...
