First Start (Elite 2500 PNP)

Doing some paranoid last checks before trying to fire her up. I've got an elite 2500 with the PNP kit.
From what I can see I don't "need" to use the haltech included air intake temperature sensor as the stock sensor is wired in as part of the PNP loom (Reading from the sensor gives a good ~ambient temperature reading, close to the coolant temp).

What I'm mostly paranoid about is the fact my car is "mostly" stock, wiring etc is all standard, however, the engine has a streetport, will the basemap (provided by haltech) be conservative enough (in fuel and timing) to also safely start a streetported enginge?
I'll be adding pre-mix to the fuel as a precaution (paranoid that OMP won't function)

To be clear, I don't want to drive the car as-is, just start it and see if it idles, there are no wiring issues etc before seeing a tuner.
Ideally I will drive the car to a tuner (on it's old ECU) then swap ecu's over at the tuners (hence not changing out the Air intake temp sensor)

Yes, you should be fine to start the car with the stock base map that Haltech provides. Now with that being said you still need to setup the TPS properly and might have to play with the fuel map to maintain a steady idle. I might be able to help you depending how far you live from me? Shoot me a pm...

Awesome, will drop you a pm.
had a fiddle with the TPS and that all seems good. I've got a timing light kicking around, so will have to have a play with that as well I think once running

If you have stock trigger and trigger wheel then the base timing can only be off by a few degrees resulting from wear and mechancal tolerance stackup of the physical parts. Its always good practice to verify base timing, but its highly unlikely you'll need to adjust anything.

Base maps all come pig rich from idle to WOT, so you'll be plenty fine with a street port on the standard base map.

Fire it up and let us know how it goes and if you have any more questions!
