cas ground question

can the red wire coming out of the crank angle sensor be grounded to the body or does it need the be grounded into the ecu. i got a harness from a member and it looks like he had the wire maybe grounded to the body cuz when it comes of the cas it does not go to the ecu it goes to the end of the harness that has the main. power wires for the haltech.

anyone?

i dont know how yours is set up, but its a ground on the ecu side. meaning you ground it somplace inside the cabin.

No. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel here? By grounding the CAS triggers to the body you run the potential of introducing a ground loom and a whole world of trigger issues. The Haltech harness is designed so that the sensors will be grounded through the ECU. The ECU ground should then be connected directly to the engine block for best results. What you are describing is a terrible idea.

its not my idea, it is how the harness came when i got it. all i was asking is if it was wright or not.

ok i did a little more digging into the harness and it is not the cas wire, it just looked like it cuz he had spliced a red wire into it. it turns out it is the 13.8v dc power for the injectors. it looks like the guy before me bypassed the main power relay and the fuse block and just had direct power to the injectors. and yes i am going to fix this...
