anyone running constant duty coils?

if so, what do you have to say about them?

What coils do you know of that are constant duty coils, cause 95% of the worlds ignition modules (which are the ones responsable for firing the coils) are Constant Charge, Falling Edge, but if you are talking CDI, those are mostly constant duty, rising edge.

You will always need something to fire the coil with, either a built in driver or a built in ignition module or something external.

So, what are we talking about exactly?

You're talking about igniters again. Your original question was about coils. hehe

Just trying to clarify.

No, ok, yeah, im with you, but i just want to know which coils are these, what model part number or where can they be found? How to tell if one is smart or dumb?

i think haltech has smart and dumb fire setups on their website, but i haven't found them anywhere else yet.

my question is with constant duty;

if i set it for say 50%, does it change the coil charge time in proportion to that?

so charge time @ 7000 rpm would be just under 4.3 ms,
and charge time @ 1k would be ~30ms

or does it work another way.
reason i ask is because i can get my car to idle really lean with a really high charge time, but obviously, the duty cycle would be beyond 100% once i get into the higher rpm range. so i wanted to know if that's how the constant duty worked vs. the constant charge.
