[E6K] No spark issue

Need some help trooubleshooting this issue. My FC has been working properly on this setup for quite sometime (years). Speed1 rebuilded the engine, and did a ecu tune up late last year, and they did mention some issues with the ECU, but they were able to get it running fairly properly.

During the last couple of weeks, the car has been hard to start after sitting for a couple of days. At frst I thought it was the engine, but after pulling the battery out for a recharge, the car engine would fire up instantly after a full charge. So I thought it was the battery...

As of last night, the engine will not fire up at all, plus the tach briefly jumps when the key is set to accessories (weird, since it wasnt doing previously). I was able to confirm that there is no spark coming out of the coils.

Could somebody help me troubleshoot what could be the cause? I honestly dont know where to start, other than checking 12V to the coils, which they do have.

To complicate matters, I am using a REW engine, with its crank, meaning I dont even know how to test the fd crank systems.

Help, please!

Can you go online with the ECU to check for a tach signal while cranking. I've had E6X, but never Ks, that would drop the crank signal when the battery is low enough. Would turn over decently enough, but too slow to get a crank signal. Result was no spark, no injection, and no start.

Interesting!

The car left me stranded at my pops, and I didnt have the laptop with me. I will go back sometime this week, and will check on it.

I guess I confirmed that that the ecu is dead. Theres no engine speed readout while cranking the engine, the IAT is reading -40F and the coolant sensor is reading 250F. Map sensor seems to working correctly...

Too bad haltech does not work on them anymore. Talk to C.Ludwig about a new haltec, he is easy to talk to (even when all I've done is ask questions), and knows the product. I will be purchasing a sprint re from him in the next couple of weeks
