Titanium Hood Prop? Why Not?!
So this project has been kicking around for a little while, but I think I finally got the green light on going forward with it.
One of my buddies recently started a business based around titanium parts and fabrication. After a little bit of prodding, I had him make me a titanium hood prop. Why? I don't know, I really just thought it was cool... and guess what? IT WAS!
Anyhow, he made a couple and I sold off the extra in the FS section. Since then, I have gotten a steady stream of people asking to get one, soooo, I went back to my buddy to improve the original design and offer them to all of you.

The standard finish is what you see pictured; heat treated with the signature titanium "burnt" look (each bar will be "unique" since this is a hand done process). However, we can also offer them 100% polished, without the coloring (reference the middle part of the top photo).
We'd really like to build up a nice run to kick this off and drop the prices for everyone. The GOAL is 50 Pieces. That's also going to be the biggest price break.
50+ = $80
21-49 = $100
1-20 = $120
All prices include insurance and cover PayPal fees, tracking #s and shipping in the CONUS. We will ship to AK, PR, HI and International, but we'll have to figure out pricing as needed.

What weight savings?
I have to be honest with this one - although a carbon fiber hood manufacturer may tote their hood being "lighter then stock" - the truth is; most "street" carbon fiber hoods weigh about the same as their aluminum counterparts.
In this case, we're already starting with a pretty small & light aluminum piece. The weight of the Titanium Prop is around 7oz - the stock if I recall was around 1lb 2oz - so the savings is about 11oz. Significant if you're talking about % - but not crazy when we're talking about pounds and ounces.

Count me in! I need this. After they designed the FD they went through the whole car to see which parts they could make lighter. They clearly forgot about this part. Thanks for keeping the spirit alive MattGold.

I don't wanna take this thread too far off the tracks, but we're tossing around ideas for some pretty cool bits. If you have an idea - PM me!

Oops, I got too zealous and realized that this hood prop may not clear my Samberg radiator/intake. Will have to pass on this route

If the stocker don't - this don't.
Maybe we can make one with a 180 degree hump to clear that intake tube?
SO EXCITED about this. Love the look and the craftsmanship here.
Can't wait for mine!
