I just thought we'd have more interest for the first run... hopefully this thing will get off the ground. No one's really clambering for a car cover until they need one unfortunately, and despite the group buy they're still not "cheap". If anyone is looking for a cheaper version we can offer different fabrics, but we've thoroughly tested them all and the Weathershield HP is hands down the best in nearly every category.

 

Sorry if this question sounds dumb:

IF there is not 25 people signed up, will the product still be sold/available?

I get my tax refund next week, and this is #1 on my list

Most likely not, we basically use group buys as a litmus test for the interest from the community. Since we have to maintain a minimum order with our various vendors, some parts we previously produced (or want to produce in quantity, like the covers) simply don't make financial sense to keep around. In short, it's actually somewhat democratic, the community votes on what they are interested in with number of orders and we continue producing whatever the community as a whole seems to want

For this project and many others, sometimes we'll just do the engineering and a small run so we can have them on our own cars at least. We've got a stack of various covers in various colors for our cars currently so I'm personally happy even if the "product" doesn't pan out

Should do it after the summer when peoples car go back in to storage... Atleast that was when i found out that a cover would be nice.

How would you compare this to a pure indoor cover? Like this:
Coverking Satin Stretch Custom-Fit Vehicle Cover

Mine is sitting indoors untouched half the year, and im only going to need a cover for that purpose. Im not putting one on outdoors.

 

That makes perfect sense!

So, worst case scenario, what would the non-group buy price be if this does not go forward?

If you don't mind paying now, the more people we have fully committed, the closer we'll be to getting the production run done in motion. We'll be doing a run regardless, at this point it's a matter of when. If we're a few orders below our goal of 25, we'll just order a few extra and keep those in inventory.

What is the standard color (not the premium colors)? Also, I have the MS GTC wing - would the high track wing model have too much "slack", as the GTC wing is a little smaller than the typical "track" wing.

 

Gray is our standard color, everything else is a premium color. As far as the wing goes, it should fit pretty well since we've allowed for some variance in wing size in that pattern. Pulling the cover further down the bumper will take up any slack; we tested it with our R-spec wing (similar size to the GTC) and it worked fine.
