We are changing up the names a tad...

Touring will now be FORZA
Grand Touring will new be GT
Luxury Touring will now be LUX

More of a marketing thing then anything else.

ALSO, Luxury Touring (LUX) is NOT available in Tan. Other models FORZA and GT are.

Don't worry about updating anything guys. We can figure it out.

Also have had some good progress on the shields. Hopefully we can share news in the next week or so......

Garage alpha, does the GT without the nubs on the bottom stay in place or am I better off going with the Forza?

Do you know which mat nylon weight is closest to stock (for comparison)?

Is the Lux berber more for looks or also better for durability?

Do you know if the red border matches or goes with the stock red carpets?

 

^The red border definitely doesn't match the stock red carpet, which is a pretty particular shade of red.

Man I am LOVING these mats and the metal badges. Huge Kudos to Garage Alpha for bringing these back and upgrading them, the Devil is in the Details

The GT *does* have nubs on the bottom. Forza does not. I would recommend the GT for this fact alone unless you are on a tight budget.

I do not know the weight of the OEM nylon. That's a good question. I would guess it's closer to the GT than anything.

The LUX is definitely the thickest of the bunch. But I think it's more aesthetic.

As Goodfella said - the red trim is NOT a good match for the OEM red. I would stick to black mats on a red interior.

Sorry I mixed up the names, I was looking at the GT and thanks for the tip on the border, I'll plan on sticking with black/black.

Garage alpha, I didn't see an option for heel pad on the website, is that still an option? I'd like to get one with a heel pad for at least the driver side.

So I should have been clear that the emblem pics are a teaser! I have backing plates, fasteners and a couple samples cut. I still need to finalize anodizing / full on production.

I promise to keep everyone updated and push this along as quickly as possible.

 

 

No - not for anything worthwhile.

The JDM shields seem to be the best route to get a customized 'RX-7' logo on a set of floor mats.

 

Quick update... just refining the shield, specifically the mounting method.






What you see here is a sandblasted shield, with a decked 'RX-7' logo (shiny!) and mounted using wafer head screws. We are trying to dial in the height of the mounting pins that accept the screws so the shields sit flush... not too loose, not too tight.

We will also do a run of anodized / decked shields to see how that turns out.

 

Looking good!! It's getting closer and closer. Soon as its finalized, I'll put my order in.

Ok guys. We're here. It's time!



The shields have been cut and are currently being anodized. I am expecting them back next week for decking.

That means I am going to start accepting orders on mats for people that have been waiting for shields. Now, keep in mind, this is a multi-step process, so you're going to have to give me a little bit of slack when it comes to turn around time.

The process looks like this:

1) You all order the mats you want. Pick your style, color and sergeing.
2) Once the orders are compiled, I submit the order to the manufacturer.
3) After the mats are all made, they ship to me.
4) Once the mats arrive to me, I manually attach the shields.
5) After that, they ship back out to all of you.

I don't know the exact turn around time. But I'm not expecting less than three weeks.

Is it possible to get your supplier to change their version of "tan"? It doesn't match the tan carpet in our vehicles; rather, more of a desert sand/taupe color. I don't remember taupe being the original color scheme for our mats. Then again, it's been a long time for me. So there's that. Ha

Note: Not intended as a complaint. Just trying to be helpful such that you don't see a bunch of RMA requests for those ordering the "tan" as their base color trying to match the carpet. Otherwise, nice product overall. And appreciate your efforts to bring good solutions/upgrades to the community!
