So initial impressions... All of them are super nice. The Touring material is impressive, but the lack of 'nubs' on the underside is a little disappointing. The Luxury is also nice and thick and the defined horizontal pattern is a nice, uh, luxury touch. But I think the Grand Touring is the best bang for buck. That said, you can't go wrong with any of them.

As for the 'shorty' mat. I'm super impressed with the turn around time and fitment. As you can see, it's a perfect mach for the SakeBomb Garage footrest. I had it made in Grand Touring for my personal vehicle, but any material can be ordered in that pattern.

Also, you can see the heel pad on the Touring sample - this is an option available on all materials.


Finally, we are working with a local embroidery shop to see if we can offer 'RX-7' logos and still pushing forward on the shields. I will keep you guys posted as things progress.

The first shields are hot off the CNC and turned out AWESOME if I do say so myself.

We had to go a little bit bigger on the 'RX-7' logo in order to use existing tooling (the curves on the logo are really tight) but really, I like it better.

We now need to decide on finishing and attachment options...

For finish, I may leave the background as-is and deck (polish) the 'RX-7'. I may also look into powder coating/anodizing the background and decking the 'RX-7'. At the end of the day, I want these to compliment the SBG foot rest when paired up and also look cool on their own.

For attachment, we're first going to try the OEM route (pins and a backing plate) and MAY try to figure out a threaded option. We'll see.

Yeah, me too. We'll see as we are now entering 'mission creep' in terms of additional processes / features.

Time wise? I'm hoping within 30 days I can start turning them around. But I am at the mercy of the CNC schedule and shipping time for the fasteners... and of course, production time on the mats.

 

Looking at the pics you posted, I'll definitely get the grand touring, with the heel pad and the shields once they become available.

I actually already have the mats from when JasonS still did the logos on them including a large Spirit R logo on the cargo mat.

If I hadn't, I'd be buying mats from you. So, I'm going to support your efforts to make these happen for everyone else and the time spent to make these badges by getting a few! I don't even know that I'm going to do with them, lol.

Please keep doing what you do to bring out products for our aging cars. Without vendors like you, SBG, Banzai, etc it would be terrible.
