Question Group buy interest: Primary injector block-off plugs

I have had a few people message me since I covered the engine side of my fuel system on MotoIQ about the availability of the primary injector plugs that I designed and had machined for my build. I only had the one set made, but have been talking to the machine shop about doing a small batch if there is enough interest.

Here is the link to the page in the article where I talk about these plugs...

Project [Rotary] FD RX-7: Part 2 - Fuel System (Engine Side) > MotoIQ - Automotive Tech, Project Cars, Performance & Motorsports

So before I pay the fees to actually organize the group buy, I'd just like to determine if there are any more people who would buy a set than the two who asked directly. This would included two anodized aluminum plugs, Viton o-rings, anodized aluminum top plate, and stainless hardware.

Spooky timing! I was just talking to my buddy about this just last night saying I liked the quality of those plugs and that I wanted something similar. I'd certainly be interested in a set if you'll ship to the UK, any rough ballpark on price?

I have no problem shipping to the UK, but actual shipping charges would apply.

The pricing I'm still discussing with the machine shop and depends heavily on the quantity ordered. If I could get at least 10 sets spoken for and could float the cash for some extra sets on my end, I think the price will be right around $100 per set.

It's not looking like we have many interested in these. I could quote having these made in a very small (and probably expensive) batch to get them for the few people interested, but that would be less than optimal.

So anyone else interested?

So, if we get 2 more people interested I'll open up the GB and pay for vender status so we can actually start talking price point and delivery time.

Can I ask why this is a superior injector location than the primary ports? It seems the only advantage would be to remove the y-block on the fuel lines and perhaps simplify the system since you're minusing a rail. I am probably missing something however.

Also, was there a reason you ran the fuel tubing to the front of the rail rather than the back, or is this pure aesthetics of the fuel tubing?

I am in the process of planning my new fuel system and any info is definitely appreciated, setup looks beautiful btw. I bookmarked your build so I can check back and steal Ideas, I mean borrow.

I don't think your really missing anything. It is mostly to simplify the fuel system and only run one rail. With two rails you have more fittings which cost more and introduce extra points of failure. Also, I wouldn't say it is a superior injector position, but I do like the fact that all injectors are now roughly the same distance from the combustion chamber and have more time to mix with the air.

No reason except that it made the most sense for the build. The distance between the flared end on the tubing and the bend is too great to fit off the front of the rail. It makes no difference which direction fuel flows through the rail.

Thanks, I've learned a great deal of what I know from others on various forums over the years and hope that I can feed some of that knowledge back into the community.

I like the way it matches the angle of the intake. I've got the xtreme rotaries primary block off, otherwise I'd be interested .

I'm going to bump this up one last time before opening the group buy. Are the people listed below still interested in a set? Also, anyone else who wants to chime in go ahead and do so.

I read your motoIQ post n searched all over the place for those plugs! I picked up a set from Mazdatrix, but would get a set from you as yours are far superior.
