it's held on by two munting tabs that attach to the firewall using existing studs. I'll have some better pictures of the footrest in about a week

I'm glad to see we're gaining interest. I'd like to start production in the next few weeks

Does the footrest block a lot of space? How much leg room do you lose for putting one of these in? And wouldn't the passenger leg area get pretty cramped between this and the fire extinguisher+bracket you guys are making?

I'm of the impression that I would rather have an extinguisher to extinguish flames and keep my engine bay safe -- I could care less about the passenger, as long as they don't break anything

Unless you put the seat all the way forward the passenger leg area shouldn't appear to be excessively cramped. We really need to get rolling on the extinguisher mount, we've been a little pre-occupied lately.

would it be possible to use those inward curved holes, commonly found on rollcage gusset plates? i think it would be stronger and more visually appealing! sorry i dont know what they are called! haha

it would be possible, but the design is meant to replicate the spirit R footrest from Japan. We wanted to as closely match the spirit R original as possible.

We should have full product shots with the gussets added for strengthening and a sample of the polished footrest shortly. We are still working on pricing for the polished version.

To protect the polished one we may add something similar to "Star Shield" from 3m... a crystal clear protective plastic film. This should keep the polish work looking like new, and when the cover finally does get scratched up it would be very simple to remove and re-apply new to keep it looking tip top

(without it the footrest wouldn't stay mirror polished for long

)
