Cast EFR IWG Turbo System Group Buy #2
We are starting another new group buy on our complete EFR IWG Rx7 turbo systems. We have increased our current order of investment cast 347SS turbo manifolds to 80 units. By increasing our order we have been able to reach a deeper discount, and are passing the savings on to our customers. Question regarding this statement (the wording) on your site...
So it will clear the air pump...but a custom tensioner bracket is required? Is that something that's available in the kit?
This turbo system does clear the OEM FD3S airpump when using the 7670. 8374 and 9180 turbochargers require a custom tension-er bracket and light trimming to fit the airpump( see photos).

The bigger 8374, 9174, 9180 require some slight grinding to a non-automatic airpump. I am under the impression that the automatic airpump is smaller. It may not require any grinding.
You need remake the lower airpump bracket/tensioner with the bigger turbos. This is not something we are making at the moment. One should be able to just modify the OEM. it just needs to be raised slightly for more clearance.

For the 7670 kit we suggest the 3.00" downpipe. If you intended to run 25-30psi boost we would suggest the 3.5".

We can ship once the manifolds are finished( 2 weeks roughly). If you want your kit before the group buy ends( which is when all the manifolds are sold) you will be locked into the current price break point. You will then need to pay the balance.

Timing on this is perfect for me because I'm rebuilding a 1995 Montego Blue right now and I'm just getting started. I'm considering the 7670 since I don't want huge power numbers but boost response is a HUGE thing for me.
Where can I find some graphs comparing the 7670 and the 8374 regarding boost with respect to RPM, torque and HP?
Timing on this is perfect for me because I'm rebuilding a 1995 Montego Blue right now and I'm just getting started. I'm considering the 7670 since I don't want huge power numbers but boost response is a HUGE thing for me.
Where can I find some graphs comparing the 7670 and the 8374 regarding boost with respect to RPM, torque and HP?

Interesting results. Can you explain why there are parts of the graph that have been cut/pasted with different text and what they mean? I'm surprised to see numbers that low from that turbo, even on pump. Stock USDM twins will make more than that. What boost pressure is that tune for and is there more headroom for pump gas? Also, did you guys do any runs on race gas?

There is no cutting and pasting on that graph. I believe you are seeing the RPM trace at the bottom overlaying on the RPM scaling( same goes for the boost pressure). This is all done on the dyno's software. I have only added the red text to reflect the modifications.
I think you might be looking at the graph wrong. It made 310rwhp at 6.5psi!
The car is going to a 20 year old, its wise we start on spring pressure( which as one can see holds low boost just fine with a wide open 3" exhaust).

A few notes:
I weighed our cast iwg manifods vs welded when we first got them. The cast weigh .05 lbs less than welded.
Since these units are no thicker than our welded units they do not retain or omit any more heat into the engine bay. This is the same concept of the efr turbine housing design(low thermal inertia). This is documented by Borg Warner. The short design has a lot less surface area than your standard manifold and will therefor produce less heat also.
We updated our downpipes to have much thicker billet flange(2x as thick as previous billet units) and added a flex section for better long term durability and fitment.

8374IWG half bridge shop car ; 533rwhp @ 20psi( with a boost leak) on a dynojet, and later made 526rwhp @ 22psi on a dynodynamics( 604rwhp on a dynojet)
8374 IWG medium street ported FC3S 503rwhp at 17.5 psi.
Both on E85.
