Finger Print car starter - alarm Biometrics

Hey I was wondering if anyone on here has installed one of these...I think this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen and It Reads your finger print or up to 10 finger prints and starts your car!

I ordered mine yesterday should be here tuesday hopefully I can finger it out and take some pictures

Check it out...

Fingerprint Car starter

The Fingerprint Starter allows you and your clients to do much more than basic alarm features.

oh well the setup in most peoples eyes on here wouldnt be worth 4 grand but the parts definetly are. Not that it makes a difference because if a thief wants you car or parts he will have it/them.

Can be circumvented like any other car alarm. Just need to jump the ignition wires.
Unless this completely disconnects the solenoid its just a fancy ignition, providing
no more or less protection. There are better, cheaper ways of getting this done.

It'd blue book for even less then. Hell insurance would give you a hell of a time with that.

You can put the car in vallet mode...and they can move it.. you can also program up to 10 finger prints into it...it even has curfew mode where if their not back by a certain time the car will turn off...this thing has thought of pretty much everything....

oh and it doesnt just cut ignition source it also cuts fuel pump and other modes... i mean sure you can always steal a car but it also goes into alarm mode if anything is tampered with...

for me its a thing that my friends wont jump in my car and run it around town while their hanging out in my garage and second its PIMP AS HELL TO SCAN A FINGER PRINT AND WATCH MY CAR START !!!!!

i was on the site for about an hour before i bought mine...but ill have mine in later this week and will try to get some pictures up...I might put it in my 240sx instead of the mazda because the mazdas carburated...but it only takes 45 minutes to install so who knows...

I hate to burst your bubble, but...

1. Fingerprint scanners are very easily thwarted.

2. This doesn't look like it starts your car at all, I think its just a fingerprint alarm.

Ok so the car isn't actually any harder to steal?... But it reads fingerprints right!? So anyone who wants to drive your car cannot! Just like if you had... say... a key! Wonderful!

or know how to knock off the brittle as hell plastic covering the steering column and can jumper a few wires with a paperclip and snap the steering lock(incidentally would have to be disengaged if you never use a key with this device anyways).

it's just something fancy to impress your friends, it will not impress a thief.

I built one last year for my 2003 Passat, it was actually really basic and secure.

I dunno about you, but if the scanner had some sort of encoded method (say, PWM or something digital) of sending the signal to a computer further inside the car that has control over the starter and fuel pump, it'd be a hell of a lot more complicated than just jumpering the wires at the steering column, I don't know if that's what this thing does, but I'm planning on trying this after I go get cozy with the EEE majors at my university.

EDIT: Sorry for zombie bump, lol
