karack, I know you need some cores but my car is inaccessible until spring as it is blocked in by snow and blocked wood (no way to get it in a shop and can't jack it on the soft ground where it sits). If I pay the price with the core charge, can I still get one of the on car adj ones? I will make a point to try and get the car out soon to see if I can grab my link but it might not be possible until some of the wood disappears. I wasn't planning on getting it out until spring but I would send you my link asap but might be a little while here.

 

i have 2 more cores now so i can work out something with you guys who need something without a core. i still am working on another project for the next day or 2 before i can make the final tweaks to the original prototype to make sure the adjustability range is good.

this is what i've been working on for the past week:


S5 TII irons, S6 rotor housings/rotating assembly, Goopy 3mm apex seals, lapped irons, full bridge port, dowel pinned, Tial 46mm wastegate atmospherically dumped, Garrett GT3571R 1.06a/r, 3" ceramic coated exhaust, 720cc/1600cc injectors, Devil's Own auxiliary injection(50/50 water methanol), 3 bar Apexi PowerFC, KB boost-a-pump, SupraTT fuel pump, Rising RPM fuel rails, Fragola AN fittings, rebuilt S6 transmission w/S5 tail housing, Exedy Twin disc clutch system, Greddy large FMIC system, HKS cast iron undivided log manifold. estimated HP range: 500WHP@20psi

i overbuilt the engine for up to 1000WHP in short bursts as it is daily driven hard(obviously the fuel system is not, nor the turbo capable of it). it made 449WHP on the last setup with a similar non BB turbo @ 17psi for several years(also built by me).

 

is that RWHP you're estimating or crank?

 

i don't even bother with crank horsepower numbers, that is a honda thing. all real world figures are measured after drivetrain losses, at the wheels.

I'm gonna be working on digging my FC out of the 2 feet of snow eventually here. might wait and see if the snow will melt a little as temperatures are starting to come up to 40 F now. maybe another month or so I can get at it. If we could work something out for the time being, that would be great. I have every intention of sending you mine when I get it out.

 

Will you be using a Marren (or similar) FPD on that motor?

 

not planning on running an FPD, going to tune it a little more conservatively this time around without it . it isn't going to be his daily driver any more so it shouldn't need one.

all done so i can get back onto regular projects again

I have some nasty camber issues that are causing really uneven wear and less traction in my rear tires. From the look of it one side is a little worse than the other.. Will this piece help me if one side is worse than the other?? Or will I just have to bite the bullet and get the individual ones from Mazdatrix?? I would love to save the money but would much prefer to have even camber on both sides for the first time...

got delayed as we ran into an issue with the S5 TII build with an electrical issue.

i shouldn't need a core for a few as i picked up a few spare rods from the local wrecking yards and i'm going to check again at the other yards for more core rods, as of now i have 2 cores and 1 premade off the car adjustable.

for induvidual camber adjustments you will need the induvidual trailing arm adjustment links from mazdatrix to adjust each side induvidually, this rod adjusts both rear wheel's camber evenly. the initial prototype on the car adjustable i made too long so i still have to trim it down to get a good starting point for good positive adjustment before i feel comfortable selling them based off my template.

I just got 3 feet of snow dumped on the ground over here. the whole town is shut down! and its still snowing. needless to say, it will probably be a month before I can get my rod off my FC since it is probably now under 5-6 feet of snow. I want dibs on one of the cores you already have and I'll send you mine as soon as I get the car out. I'm not digging through no 5 feet of snow, 1500 feet long to get to it.lol, let some of this snow melt first.

 

here is some pictures with the revised prototype installed with the corrected length, keep in mind my car has been lowered about 2" from stock height and had about 4-5* of negative camber to start with, i left the adjustment at about -.5 degrees but the rod has more adjustment, it is really only designed to take out about that much camber. if you need to add even more camber, say if you have the car lowered as much as possible then you would need additional camber adjusters for each lower lateral arm such as the ones mazdatrix sells.

initial adjustment with the rod at stock length zeroed out:

lowering the car adds negative camber where the wheels look like an inverted V or / \ shape. raising the car from stock adds camber such as a V shape or \ /. the rods i am producing are to correct for negative camber adjustments, in other words to correct for lowering the vehicle. i can make rods to recude camber for those who are raising the cars for racing such as rallycrossing but those are few and far between so for now to keep as much integrity to the rod as possible the initial prototype design is for lowered vehicles.

shortening the rod length increases camber to correct for lowering the vehicle, increasing the rod length reduces camber for raised vehicles.

the rod itself is located to the left of the differential pumpkin attached to the rear of the rear subframe of the car, you will need 2 17mm sockets and 2 3/8" or 1 1/2" and 1 3/8" ratchet to remove it. the topside inner bolt is a little difficult to get to so i suggest breaking the outboard nut loose first before worrying about getting a socket on the inboard bolt head to keep the bolt from spinning. i will get more detailed pictures soon when i make up the procedure list for the rod.

for now they are ready to produce so those who can send me in their cores let me know, those who need the premade rod i will need to make a list for the core return list will have to start now as i only have a limited amount of cores to build and ship out while waiting on cores to be returned.

so i will have 2 lists:

list for those who need a premade rod, daily driver's or cannot remove the rod until they have one to reinstall or have no spare rod on hand.

the lists are for the on car adjustable rods, as there seems to be little to no interest in the off car adjustables.

final cost for the rods will be $56 plus $7 shipping and handling to the lower 48 states and an additional $10 to those on the first list who will not be providing a core or will be returning one at a later time.

payment can be made to my paypal address at: ktm0012@sbcglobal.net in the amount of $63 if you are shipping a rod out first or $73 if you have no core rod to supply or will be shipping one out after you recieve the premade one, once i recieve the core in good condition i will refund the $10 core charge.

at this time i only have 3 cores to send out at a time until i find more so if you do not pland to send in yours to be modified and sent back please send me a PM first so i can give you a timeframe if the rods i have in stock have all been sent out and i am waiting for returns so that you are not wondering why there are delays.
