Cincinnati Transmission Specialist in Cincinnati Ohio
I really admire the people on this site for working on their own cars. I wish I did more. If I had the space, heat, lighting, and tools to work with, I would do more.
As I would have attempted to replace the master and slave on my 84.
Since I couldn't, I looked up the best priced parts. Now I could have bought aftermarket parts really cheap but I went for Mazda New oem parts.
The local deaship wanted $177.47 for the master and $87 for the slave. And another$40 or more for the hose, rod, and crush washer.
I bought them online for around $200. Now to me that's high but it was the best I could find for new oem parts and I am satisfied.
I'm sure I could have done the aftermarket thing alot cheaper but I did not want that.
I then called around Cincinnati for prices on the install. The Mazda dealer wanted $225 and I'm sure once they were done it would be closer to $325.
Most of the other places wanted from $250-$300. That sounded crazy from what I have read on the forum. So I stopped in at Cincinnati Transmission which was right down the street from my house and I found an honest repair shop.
They charged me $130 to install everything. I took it in at 2:30 in the afternoon and it was done by 5:30. I think it only took an hour to do.
The point is Cincinnati Transmission does good work and they are honest. Josh Meyer is the manager at the Sharonville store. I think they have another store but I'm not sure where it is. Maybe in Fairfield Ohio
So anyone in the Tri-State area that needs tranny work should give them a call.
They do just about everything there, not just transmissions.
They give a 3 year warranty on used transmissions. I've never heard of that.
