Thumbs up RE Motorsports; the best thing that ever happen to my 7

Well, so far through out my endeavors of being an RX7 owner, naturally I've had my ups and downs. So far I've been through 3 FCs, including my current 10AE which has NOT been fun. When I bought the thing, the engine had 175k+ on it, and was on its way out. The guy who sold me the car also gave me a "mint condition 13t" that supposedly had 7k on it.... Of course the engine was completely blown, and we didn't even find out until we dropped the damn thing into the car.

Running out of options, time, and cash, I was pretty much ready to give up on the thing. Then after going to a car meet on a saturday night, I noticed 2 FDs parked on the side of the Lot. Ended up meeting the owner of one of them, Mark Memcaj of RE Motorsports (who actually remembered me from when I had my first FC when i was 18) and offered to rebuild my engine for a very reasonable price. At the time i was considering going to Banzai or Atkins, or something more well known. But I figured what the hell, he's local, nice guy, and after talking to him for a bit at the meet it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about.

So i gave him a shot. Ended up being the best decision I've made thus far while owning this car. Completely rebuilt the engine with quality parts and put the time in needed to actually DO IT RIGHT. After witnessing the process and care he took when checking and double checking everything through out the rebuild.

Engine is now complete and restored to 110psi on both housings when cold, and i haven't even broken the thing in yet. I would Recommend RE Motorsports to anyone in the Rotary community for your tuning and rebuild needs. Mark's attention to detail is beyond that of a professional, and more like the passionate Rotary enthusiast that we would all like handling our engines.

A+++

fersher man, I hear so many sad ******* stories on here about bad results with companies. I've had a long battle down the line with this car in particular, 7 months now and its finally getting where i want it to go thanks to REM.

and yeah Im in the Metro Detroit area where its especially hard to find anyone with any kind of knowledge of RX7s. I would have rebuilt the thing myself but I have no time between my fulltime job and 12credits in school

Admin, feel free to move this to where its appropriate, but Id like to give this guy the publicity and attention he deserves lol.

Oh wow, their shop is like 3 miles away from my house . I think I met Mark briefly at one of the MI rotary club Dream Cruise meets, he brought out their crazy drag FD. That thing is a beast .

Glad to hear it worked out for you - finally! I remember hearing you story a while ago, and was wondering how it all turned out.

You said they re-built it for a reasonable cost (which is ALWAYS a plus); what all went into it and what was the final build cost?

heres a vid of his car last year, and of course hes been working on it since then

I understand why someone would question that number but I'm talking from personal experience. I'm willing to put his car up to par with any other company out there. Not trying to talk **** or anything disrespectful, but in reality, I DO NOT QUESTION AT ALL WHAT SO EVER the QUALITY of his work

I'm just really excited and happy with my results man.
