Another Great Build Completed by Kevin Landers @ Rotary Resurrection

I recently moved and gained a much larger garage in which to tinker around. I decided once moved in I would have my FD's motor rebuilt. Who to have build it? One name came to mind.

There are a multitude of builders across the country that are talented and rebuild rotaries very well. However, my issue is that today money has yet to start growing on trees leaving me less than willing to spend loads of money on a build.

Who could I go to who has given an immense amount of knowledge and help to the rotary enthusiasts? Who looks to help keep rotaries on the road yet who does not intend to drown customers in charges? Kevin.

Most often people recognize Kevin Landers of Rotary Resurrection with the second generation RX7. Indeed he knows second gens inside and out better than he knows the back of his own hand but he also knows FD's like no other!

I soon proceeded to remove my engine and strip it down to a short-block. I sent my motor the second Kevin found room to spare! This is where things start getting exciting. Kevin is great at documenting his builds and keeping you up to date on the happenings of the motor.

Kevin tore my motor down, took a multitude of pictures, and sent a very in depth email explaining his findings and recommendations. The in depth explanation accompanied with the pictures was extremely helpful. Kevin explained things that I would of never thought of.

Once everything was decided on and parts sent off for various reworking, new parts ordered, and parts returned to Kevin for the build I was getting anxious. Kevin rebuilt my motor in a very very timely manner. The only thing that slowed the build down was the time it took to ship housings and irons off for rework.

Something that stood out for me was that Kevin stood up for his customer (me) when one of my irons needed welded to fix the coolant jacket. My irons were off being reworked and the shop that was reworking the irons wanted to charge a fair amount of money to do the welding. Kevin explained the cost of rework was not worth the worth of the iron and that it would be cheaper for me to just buy a used iron for that cost. Eventually everything worked out and the iron was fixed at an extremely reasonable price. I was extremely impressed that Kevin stood up for me instead of just saying go for it and leaving me to cover the cost. Thanks Kevin!!

Kevin continued to document my build and explained any further questions that I had. Kevin maintains the pictures of your build during the build on his website for your viewing pleasure anytime.

Kevin does not charge outrageous prices and helps you with any issues you have. When you receive your engine back from Kevin he includes a CD with all your build photos, warranty information, a detailed description of break in procedures and very in depth instructions if you are installing the motor yourself.

I cannot praise Kevin enough for his outstanding service to our community and unbelievable prices.

If your on the edge of who to go to... in the very least check Kevin's website out and send him a quick email. He is prompt and willing to answer your questions.
