Move back to asia 10 years ago
With experience i have in usa
I still think Taiwan emissions test is easier to pass

Our county required for car over 10 years need emissions test twice per year

Around 10 usd per test
But instead of evil dyno, we just need idile test

With new cat install this time, adjust fuel psi to 1.6kg and rise idle to 2000
Pass with ease

I remove most of emissions stuff
With knight sport high flow turbo
Fuel management by Hks fcon

Antique vehicle tags get around that here. I drive around our E28 race car without headlights, turns, muffler or windows on antique tags.

Hey side note does that vert have both the auto and manual trans x-member mount points? I remember FCs having one or the other from my FC manual swap days.

Haha, back in the day I had a semi shady smog guy who did the same this as the OP. The car would pass at 3k OR idle, but not both. So he adjusted my idle to 2500 and made the car pass, then dialed the idle back down.
I dealt with the issues later, but that sneaky little band aid worked for the California test.
