Winters over, time to start the project...
First order of questions... Let me start by explaining what I have. I have an 83 RX7 12A complete with choke (I call her my lil lawnmower :-)
) So anyways When I start my car in the morning I have the choke open and I go inside to wait for the car to idle down and suck the choke back in. I notice I'm getting some blue smoke out the end. I believe from owning previous cars that I'm burning oil, Is this a typical problem with Rotery's? And how would I proceed to fix it?

As these engines age and aquire mileage, the oil control o-rings, wear/harden. A little smoke on start up is quite common and usually not a concern. If it's still pumping out blue smoke during acceleration after warmup or you're seeing more smoke on hard decel, start saving for a rebuild.
it may also be prudent to pay "closer" attention to your oil consumption. i made it a point to say closer because you should be doing that with any rotary, no matter how old or new it is. i check the oil in the Rx-8 roughly every 2 weeks even though it's new.
