Winters over, time to start the project...
First order of questions... Let me start by explaining what I have. I have an 83 RX7 12A complete with choke (I call her my lil lawnmower :-) :Kill1: ) So anyways When I start my car in the morning I have the choke open and I go inside to wait for the car to idle down and suck the choke back in. I notice I'm getting some blue smoke out the end. I believe from owning previous cars that I'm burning oil, Is this a typical problem with Rotery's? And how would I proceed to fix it?

As these engines age and aquire mileage, the oil control o-rings, wear/harden. A little smoke on start up is quite common and usually not a concern. If it's still pumping out blue smoke during acceleration after warmup or you're seeing more smoke on hard decel, start saving for a rebuild.

Ok So After its warmed up and the choke it back in it doesn't spew blue smoke anymore. Its it not a Huge concern right now then? But a rebuild should be in my mind right?

They can smoke for many miles without worry, as long as it's minor and goes away once warmed up.

it may also be prudent to pay "closer" attention to your oil consumption. i made it a point to say closer because you should be doing that with any rotary, no matter how old or new it is. i check the oil in the Rx-8 roughly every 2 weeks even though it's new.
