When I'm accelerating and only accelerting, my car makes a wier chirpy noise sorta. It almost sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard. As soon as I let my foot off the gas, it goes away. And if i'm sitting still like in my driveway for example, I can push on the accelerator but it doesn't make the noise. Only going down the road.

 

it might be either your alternator or maybe even one of your pulleys. i had the same problem but i replaced the aternator and i still heard the same thing. a few minutes after i turned it on i look at the engine and saw sparks shooting out o the pulley on the air conditioner compressor.
