Sigh server problems

4th try

Hey I purchased some "rebuilt" turbos for my 3rd gen.. No big took about 2 weeks.. I had then sent to my parents as I was away on business.. I picked up the turbos this weekend and was bummed in what I saw. The turbos have some play in the shafts (about 1/6" more or less /my 100k have about the same amount of play) also the waste gate area is all goofed up.. My question is should the turbos have been sold as "rebuilt".. If the turbos had been rebuilt they have had some run time on them which was not stated..

I would like input from the forum about the turbos. I know they look nice and shiny but it looks more like someone took a wire brush on them..

Tell you what...those things look like they have 100k+ miles on them!!

I'll sell you some non-seq twins with 45k miles on them for $200....they look flawless compared to those....

Hey Tek.

The turbos visually look below average. The cracks in the turbine housing indicates that these turbos have excess of 120K on the turbine housings. As long as the cracks dont excede the gasket line, they would be fine to operate in non sequential operation. If the primary turbine housing is cracked really bad like the secondary, you will have a damaged turbine wheel because of the turbine housing collapsing from the inside. The turbine housings do look stock (not coated), and the compressor covers have been coated. The primary turbo looks like there has been either blow by from the crank case vented through it or the carbon seal is leaking internally causing the dirty look on the primary compressor wheel. I would tell you that the turbos are good for a core, not full price...

hey FYI airlu sold my the turbos.. I dont think hes a very honest person.. I have given up trying to work it out with him and am contacting the postal authority about mail fraud. He shipped the items Via UPS but was told that the US postal marshals cover them.. Will tell you more later
