Where to buy?!?!

Has anyone done business with best of JDM engines? They have 13b turbo motors for $1000 right now... I'd be interested if thats the case, assuming they have a good track record.

If you guys know of anyone with quality motors in this price range please let me know

Really?!

There's a whole hate post in the bad vendor section of this forum... I'm not sure I want to do business with them

Its a crapshot buying a junkyard imported rotary. Iwould only trust japan2la if i were to ever get one. He compression tests them.

What is wrong with your motor? I'd sooner try and save up and get a rebuild if possible.

Other than the Master kit for my rebuild is $800 and the turbo motor is $1000, nothing...

It's a 12a and the original motor in an anniversary car... I was thinking of rebuilding it and keeping it as a back up, or in case I want to sell it as a matching #'s car.

Now after reading the write up on japan2la I'm seriously concerned about buying ANY JDM engine... No offense to japan2la, but it's more than a bit disconcerting to hear that about any member of this forum, much less a popular vendor... Mostly the overpromising and under-delivering issue.

It makes me really think about paying that much money (I make VERY little and support my family of 4), and risking getting something I can't use, or worse.

I think at this point, I'll be either going to dallas to check the engine myself before making a purchase, or having a friend in Cali go check it out before I purchase one from there.
