Can confirm this personally.

Have cracked a front iron... replaced iron, disassembled and reassembled with same ALS seals... 100PSI + compression.

THEN on same engine cracked rear iron... replaced rear iron and reused same ALS seals again... great compression.

Have not damaged a housing or turbo as a result of using these seals.

i'm still curious how these softer seals fare against mileage. i'll be pulling apart an engine built with Goopy seals that has about 20k miles on it in the near future to see how they are doing.

i know ALS are different but i will stick to my guns, softer seals wear quicker than brittle harder seals will. build an engine with certain goals, high horsepower builds get softer seals, lower horsepower builds get more brittle seals for longevity sake. ceramic can't be beat for longevity but that is more a market for endurance non turbo applications, i'm hoping to have an affordable ceramic seal set out in about a year, sub $500 mark per set after testing is done if it is favorable.

I just don't like the carnage ceramics make when thy break. I would say thy are great for a high revving NA engine.

We put these seals through hell and haven't had a single issue except for one batch being bent from the factory. Edgar is moving everything in house so he can control everything.

I been using them for 5 months now compression is high 115-119 . After my break in decided to give it a WOT 1st to3rd gear pull on an untuned rebuild still untuned 5 month later, frequents freeway pulls and daily driven for 4 months in SoCal traffic . And still Nothing!

Too bad I won't tune the motor since I am going 20B ,Johnathan December I want 9 seals please!

I took apart an engine with als recently. . Initially I thought that they screwed the housings but after some thorough cleaning and checking the housings look like brand new.

Any more info on this ? why did you take the motor apart? was the compression low?

howmany miles ?

were the seals bent ?

did they wear down?

detaills!

hopefully RotaryEvolution would chime in and let us know how his experiences have been with the goopy seals .

I used goopy for my build Got a great deal on them thanks to my builder. So i'm curious

The car was burned down so I took it apart

Didnt have many miles.. I would say around 3k miles but a lot of them were on the dyno with a gtx42

No wear on the apex seals or housings

Something strange happened in the past before it burned down.. I did a compression test after my engine running very hot. Engine sounded weird so I did a compression test and I had low compression on two phases .. after several tries compression seemed fine in all 3 phases. I spoke to several guys more experienced than me and told me that als have the tendency to warp. How the hell did it warp back I have no idea and whether it warped or not in the first place.. I didnt see any wear out of the ordinary. . In fact they seemed brand new + carbon build up
