Whats a good price for a fc TII?
I'm 16 and I'm wanting to get a rx7 FC TII. I was wondering what a good price is because I'm on a tight budget. Also respectively what my insurance will be.

If you want a RUNNING TII that doesnt have a lot of problems.... you're looking at anywhere between $2-5k depending if its a S4 or S5.... the better its overall condition, the more you're going to pay...
I've seen some really nice and low mileage TIIs going between $5-8k
As for insurance..... you're not going to like it..... expect to pay well over $100-150/mo and even more than that JUST for the state minimum requirement aka liability only.
Full coverage? Forget about it, thats getting close to a new car payment since you're 16.
For the lesser models like the GXL, and GTU.... you're looking at anywhere from $1200 to 4000 again.... depending on condition and if its a S4 or S5..... insurance is still not going to be cheap, but a bit lower..... just dont expect something like $20/mo.......
Honestly, if this is your first car.... you shouldn't be worrying about a sports car.... seriously, get a honda or toyota to beat on that you dont have to worry if you scratch the paint or dent it, its also a good base to learn how to maintain a car..... you need to gain driving experience before you worry about having a sports car and going fast..... trust me, im speaking from experience.
Jumping straight into a sports car and trying to maintain it and you'll quickly be in over your head and you'll end up having a bad experience and end up selling the car because you dont know how to work on it and you cant afford to have a shop work on it

Thanks cptpain for all the advice. Just to let you know this is not my first car. I have been driving for over eight months in my dad's 1993 toyota pickup. It's time for me to move on to my next car. I am a really big racer. It's my life and I would really like to get into it, track racing and drifting. I've seen how well these rx7 drift at some drift shows and this is one reason I want to get one besides just how amazing I think they can look. I was expecting my insurance to be somewhere around that and I am paying $1300 a year right now in my toyota so that will be a big increase but that's the reason I am going to save up a little over 2 grand of the price of the car. Now this will be my first sports car for sure. There is going to be some things that I want to do to it that I am going to have no idea what to do. I will bring my questions here.
One last question. What's the difference between the "S4 and S5" models and how can I tell which is which when I go to look at the car?

Relative to other vehicles, an FC is damn cheap to insure. The car is officially an "RX7 coupe" that is 25 years old and will do minimal damage to another vehicle if you get in an accident. Nowhere does it mention the words turbo.
Don't cheap out on purchasing an rx7. 5000$ is what your going to spend for a nice one in good running condition. And it's worth it. The costs will start to add up if you have to rebuild one and then do this and that.

True. I am planning on buying one somewhere around that price. I just need to start work and start saving. I've been looking on the classfiels on here to find one because onmy local craigslist there is only like 4 for sale one being a T2.
