well I have a 72 RX2 which is all stock. I jsut got it fired up the other day, after about 5 years of NO USE. so I am trying to figure out what all i need to inspect. I really hope to run at an autocross event near the end of the month. I know the following: Motor oil, tranny fluid, diff fluid, coolant, clutch fluid, brake fluid. I will inscect the brake components to make sure they are functioning good. what else should i look for or look into too. thanks matt22

 

once u make sure it's safe to drive, do so and listen for noises in the drive train and keep an eye on the temp guage. just don't get TOO far from home. might want to consider replacing belt and hoses, the rubber brake lines. also check all the ball joints. if everything checks out ok, open it up and see how it runs. good luck and happy rotoring.

 

what should i be looking for as far as the ball joints are concerned?

look to see if the road pulls you to one side, or back and fourth. you know, those little grooves at the begiinning and ending of some intersections? yeah those, and check for bump steer, like if you hit a bump, and ur car jumps, change em
