Weird idles, add coolant buzzer, quick exhaust punching at idle

Hello, fairly new owner of a 91 n/a fc rx7. I've come to find that it idles really funny usually pretty high around 1500 Rpms usually. Also when I would turn the air or heat on it either idles even higher or lower. Also, add coolant buzzer comes on when idling or cruising at low Rpms. Are these two issues connected at all? I'm also sure I'm losing a small bit of power somewhere because it doesn't pull like I know it should in the higher end. But gets great compression had it checked a couple days ago. Motor was rebuilt 25000 miles ago. Also, recently as its getting colder, on cold starts it backfires loudly out of the exhaust and I have to tap the gas a few times to get it started. And of course it spits out fuel which is letting me know extra fuel is being dumped somewhere? My fuel light has stayed on since I got it. Fuel issue and vacuum leak? I'm confused someone help please just recently got some rotary friends so not too connected with them. Thanks in advance.

high idle is likely related to the air pocket in the cooling system and stuck open thermowax. flush the cooling system and bleed all the air out of the system.

top end power loss is generally stuck auxiliary port actuators. carbon builds up on the sleeves and they stick closed, as that is their natural position they sit 99.9% of the time. if you have a catalytic converter that is another place to look for top end performance loss.

The fuel light is an indicator to remind you that the fuel level in the tank is low. If you know there is sufficient gas in the tank then the aspect of the fuel level sending unit is not operating properly and the notion that the sending unit being faulty would have an affect on the running of the engine is an incorrect one.
