i got water down in my engine and i know its not good for any engine but i didnt know if it hurt the rotary any more than a regular engine. any info will help. thanks

 

Water cannot be compressed. It can be atomized into a mist, but not compressed. If enough regular water went into the engine it could prevent the rotors from rotating because they won't be able to compress the water. Its called hydro-lock. Thing is, I don't know how much water is enough to cause this to happen.

You probably already know that water can't be compressed and in a piston engine the waters presence is occupying space, reducing the volume of the chamber in which compression of the air/fuel mixture is taking place, and increasing the pressure. This can lead to serious damage to the internal components of the engine.

 

Not a big deal. Pull the spark plugs out and spin over the motor. Just remember the rotors are made of iron as are the plates and they will rust if the water sits for a long time.

 

i know what hydro-lock is and its not locked up. it cranks over but just wont start. my guess is that its just not getting compression but i havent had time to test it yet. i just wasnt sure if it was anymore damaging to to a rotary than a piston engine. thanks
