w.o.t. power cuts off

the car is an 89 rx7 gtu non turbo 5 speed. i am a noob here but i have expierience in other forums. for the record i did a search i came up with tps test and bad grounding but the symptoms for my problem are different. any help or positive direction is appreciated. if i hold the throttle/gas mid way the rpm's will rasie with no cut off as soon as i put it past a certain position the fuel cuts totally. if i put it to the floor right away in first gear it will die at like 3k every time. when i first start it up sometimes it i will be good for a short burst. also can some one give me detailed instructions on testing the tps censor i do have an analog meter. thanks so much for the help

I would first change my plugs and fuel filter. Many RX7s are in need of a tune up so just get that out of the way first. Check you plug wires while you are at it.

I do not know how to check the tps on a fc so sorry, but most tps problems result in a unstable idle and poor light load and low end acceleration.
