Vacuum spacer plate question.. Did I just ruin it?
I was tearing down my carburetor on my 80 model SA I cleaned it and went to put the carb back on and noticed the bottom of my vacuum spacer plate was not flat I thought what was on there was a stuck on gasket or something. I scraped half of it flat with a razor blade before realizing it was molded that way.
Did I just screw myself?
The car had a massive vacuum leak before I even started working on the car and was trying to tie up all loose ends preventing it from idling once at operating temperature
This looks like now I'll have an even bigger vacuum leak
Is it possible to just run a bead of liquid gasket or high temp silicone between the two? I'm kicking myself for making such a novice mistake. it came off so easily because its brittle that I thought it couldn't possibly be made that way
