Angry V-Belt Help!

Hi I have an 82 RX7 that had two v-belts on yesterday when i could get the car started but one snapped off (the fan/alt one) so when i inspected i saw there were three places for belts and not just two! so i purchased all brand new belts for the car and put them on (correctly) and when i go to start the car i see the alternator "fan thing" spinning but the fan barely moves at all and the car sounds like the battery is low like it's using all the power really fast. (it seems like a belt is keeping it from spinning completely?) i charged the battery to full and tried again. (it's a really nice battery and isn't messed up.) just yesterday that fan was spinning perfectly. anyways, i purchased a belt for the Comp., w/A.C. (38 & 1/2") and was wondering if i should have gotten the belt that was for the Comp., w/A.C. but size (40"). could that be keeping my fan from spinning or is it just one of the other two? can anyone help me out? please give me a phone call, i will be out trying to get it working all day pretty much. 7852309407. thanks!

oh and i purchased a new performance oil filter and screwed it right on there (so easy i love it) but was wondering if there is anything else i needed to do for it? sorry might be a dumb question!
