u joint

i need to replace my u joint in my 87 rx7 se 5 speed . i need to know where the joint it located and is it easy to change. Also if i ned a new drive shaft are those cheap and easy to install.

Don't know about the 87s but the 93' + aren't replaceable.
Maybe the guys over in the racing section would know for sure.

If it is an OEM U-joint, then it is an integral part of the drive shaft and you will have to replace the whole thing. The good news is that there are aftermarket parts that are separate driveshaft and U-joint...at least for the 91's it was that way.
