Unhappy Starting failure

I have a 94 RX-7 twin turbo 68,000 miles. It looks like new. I got it a year ago and it ran fine till yesterday, and it won't start.
Can anyone tell me what to check or where to read up on starting problems when the whole car is good, except maybe for needing a tune-up. It does not smoke or use oil, and is very strong. The exhaust is very smelly, like the mixture is bad maybe.
I'm a new user of this site, so let me know if I do/say something wrong.

you should probably post in the 3rd gen forum. Is the car stock? Also did you check the spark plugs see if its flooded?

Does the starter crank the motor but the motor won't start?
Or do you turn the key and nothing happens?

I need a better definition of "won't start"
