turbo question

Hey.. I purchased a parts car a while back with a rebuild in it.. Im taking the turbos off to put in my FD and found some of the solenoids wired back.. can someone tell me why and also tell me if I can run them new turbos sequential?

From: Kicking down doors in a neighborhood near you
that looks like one of the rods for the wastegate. Is the turbo modified to run non sequential? I don't know if that is how its supposed to be modified or not. It might be that who ever did it didn't have the right sort of pin to use like how the other rod is attached to the notch.
