tranny install

Trying to install the new tranny I got. The splines line up but I can't get the input shaft all the way in. About half and inch sticks out... any Ideas?

Make sure you got the back end of the tranny as high as you can get it, then just push back and forth until it slides into place. I we got my trans in pretty easily.

I had a hell of a time trying to get mine in till I figured out that the engine tends to tilt torward the front of the car when the tranny is out

Remedy get someone to push the engine torward the firewall while you jiggle the trany to line it up then it should slide right in

Yes, much easier as a two man jo. I have seen it done wher one person is at the back and rotates the shaft so the splines will line up as the other tries to push the bell housing in etc. Works well! make sure the gearbox and engine are bascially on the same angle before you start!
