detonation and running cold

are they related? will running your engine too cold cause pinging?? also I'm running very rich with an untuned power FC.

my car constantly runs at 78degree celsius. Upgraded radiator w/evans coolent and an oil cooler without thermostat.

After the car died I removed the plugs and they were really black. What do you guys see as causes of this??

One of the biggest problems with a "cold" engine is your oil is not flowing very well.&nbsp Inferior lubrication means lots of engine noise.&nbsp This can be easily picked-up as knock by a knock sensor.&nbsp If you're seeing elevated EGT's, your cold-start enrichment is mis-tuned.
