tire size

What's the largest tire size I can put on 1rst gen GSL SE wheels without having to do any mods to the car?

GSL-SE wheels are 14 x 5.5" and the maximum (safe) tire width is 3" wider than the wheel width, which would be 215's. I'm thinking of putting 215/60's on my stock wheels, but probably only in the back, so I'm turning less rpm's at cruising speed.. or maybe I'll go to 15" wheels to get more tire selection.

There are many threads on this topic in the first-gen forum.

205 is the widest width the stock front will hold and some 205's will rub. rear can fit a 225 but is too wide for the stock rim.
