timing chain

I was just wondering what a timing chain on an rx-7 would be? The person that I bought it from said that was what is wrong with it and I bought one at autozone through special order but the rotaries do not have cams or valves so is it talking about the oil metering pump chain or what? My friend that I bought it from does not know either but that is what a mechanic told him?

Someone has been smoking too much crack.

What is wrong with your car? I'm sure this forum can offer some suggestions!
