synthetic or not synthetic oil???

So I'm new to the rotary engine and my buddy who has a FC tells me I should use non-synthetic oil in my FD motor due to it leaving stains and burn marks on the rotor housing. Is this true? Should i just use good old regular 10W-30?

if your using the stock OMP system its better to use non synthetic as it burns better. Synthetic isnt designed to burn up so its not particularly favorable given the design of the stock oil metering system.

Synthetic all the way if you are running a turbo, low ash count will reduce carbon from the oil that does burn. I just run Castrol in my REPU since it's not turbo.

Of course you will get about 10,000 opinions on oil so really just do what you want and it won't matter much any way.

the engine doesn't seem to care, as long as there is something wet and slippery in it
