Surging Charge Relief Valve

Hey guys,

I've got a little issue with my factory turbos. I hold a solid 11 psi on the first turbo but when my FD converts to the secondary turbo, my boost gauge fluctuates and drops about 5 psi. The fluctuation and surging of air tells me that it's most likely the charge relief valve.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I got the turbos tested today for leaks and everything came back fine.

The moral of this thread is: I'm going to need to replace it, but will I have to get another factory CRV or is it possible to install something else?

Thanks!

The very complicated sequential biturbo system is run by solenoid valve and uses both vacuum and boost to control the flaps both in y-pipe and exhaust manifold. the could be any number of thing wrong with your system. leaky vacuum hose, defect solenoid or actuator arm fallen of the pin underneath the turbos (theres 3 of those).

Thanks for replying!

Do you really think it would be a leaking hose would cause the boost to be surging? I believe it would just not hold at all. And if it was a dislocated actuator arm I would think that would be the same issue as a leaking vacuum line. The is sure must be something that can close and open because that is what's causing by boost gauge to fluctuate.

Do you happen to have a CRV laying around or know anyone?
