Stupid newbie mistake oil control ring

I was rebuilding an s4 13b and when I was fitting oil control rings on the rotor ( I think that's what their called, go inside metal fittings and into round slots on the rotor )
and I forgot the spring when I was putting them in first. I got the larger outside one out just fine but the smaller inside one is completely in the groove. I can't get anything in between the groove wall and the o ring holder metal piece thats strong enough to get it out.
Did I just totally screw my front rotor?
Any help is appreciated, greatly!
Tried searching, and all the results I get are "bad oil control rings" etc.

if you can't fit something like a razor blade in between the groove to pry it out, consider super gluing a pair of toothpicks to opposite ends of the ring to pull it out.

I'm just throwing a random idea out there, I've never heard of forgetting those springs before.

Thats a good idea. The only thing I've been able to fit in at all has been the spring that goes under the ring but its not strong enough to pull up at all.

I'll be right back, going to try that out.

Thanks

the adhesive didn't work, but I managed to get a box knife razor blade in just enough under the outside lip to pull it out.
Thanks for the idea.
Geez that was dumb.
