i have a mazdaspeed short shifter. i was jiggling it around and it popped out and is stuck in reverse. i tried popping it back in and it wouldnt stay in.? what could the problem be?

 

Common problem on Miata transmissions as well. A roll pin has come loose and has slid through. Take the shifter off and see if you can see anything weird. Sometimes people say you can do something with the trans still in the car but. Im thinking you have to go to a transmission shop. Sorry, tough breaks.

 

how do i fix it
