Snap Ring install.

Ok so lets say i bought a RX7 86 with a 5 speed manual. I noticed that the speedometer does not work.

After investigating. I came to the conclusion that the trans was rebuilt and someone for got to put the Snap Ring Key in >> to hold the speedometer drive gear.

Does anyone know if i might be able to do this from install from the speedometer driven gear assembly on the out side of the case.

Maybe not..
So who knows this question?

Thanks in advance.

It's really not that hard. You could possibly even do it with the trans in the car. You will need to remove the tail housing. Once you have that off the drive gear sits on the output shaft. This, imo, would be easier and far less expensive than putting together an alternate drive system.
