Sloppy mechanics of the rotary world?

If you don't know what I'm talking about, Sloppy Mechanics or Matt Happel is a guy who builds cheap LS engines that make a lot of power and has a lot of building tips, He went 8 seconds for 8 grand and is "famous" for that and the what he calls the dont bs me setup Cam+Springs +Sloppy mix of turbo parts+ringap+E85=600-800whp. I am just getting into the rotary world and am wondering if there is like a "cheaper than the other guys" youtuber, who builds rotary's that make good power and talks about what combinations works and what does not work. Basically what parts are worth the money an what parts are not worth it.

Any idiot can crank up the boost to hit peak numbers on a dyno. Making that power reliably doesn't usually come from cheaping out and cutting corners though.

The topic of how to make more power (reliably) and what mods will net what approximate power level have been covered once or twice in the past 20 years of this forum's current status, I'd start by searching.

High power rotaries don't tend to like cheapskates or fools though, just a heads up 👍

the Japanese tuners favor simplicity, they try to make things as simple as they can, less to go wrong. then they take a long time and tune the car really well.

similar in concept to your sloppy mechanic guy actually.

I thought this was going to be like the 12A that I bought that had been "rebuilt" by a "pro" that had one light rotor, one heavy rotor, oil seal springs on the wrong sides, .008"+ side seal gap, used apex seals, .008+" apex seal slot clearance....

there is this really really old thread where some guy has a "rebuilt" engine T78 turbo, etc etc etc and was wondering why it dyno's 139rwhp and leaves a puddle of oil on the ground
