single rotor question

Hello everyone recently i bought a used rx8 as a little project so I am extremely new to the rotary world but I am already becoming a fan of the rotary engine and I have a little track car that I been working on lately and after seeing a couple photo of single rotor rotary engine on the internet I really want to try building one. So my question is what base engine do you recommend to do such a conversion with? I will probably be turbocharging it since expecting 160hp from an N/A single rotor engine seems a bit unrealistic.

My question would be, where are you getting the crankshaft from? Seems to be the limiting factor.

If you read that link to the Atkins rotary site, they sell the parts individually. They charge $995 for the E-shaft!
