Rx7 13B swap??

I just recently bought a 1993 Mazda Rx7 Twin turbo 5 speed with a blown engine. Just ordered a 13B from Japan. I phoned around a few places and they all seems to refused to work on RX7 because of the Rotary engines. Is it that bad to do a swap on this car? I am located in Canada and that is where the car is originally from. What is all required to do the swap does anyone know? The motor that I got from japan came complete with the wiring, ecu,2 turbos, a/c compresser, alternator, Distributor, exhaust & intake manifold, etc.

If you aren't confident enough to do it yourself than I suggest bringing it to Banzai. Good luck with the swap.

here's a breakdown of how far and how long that trip would take:

From downtown Regina to downtown Pierceton, IN it would be 1283 miles. That's about 20 hours, obeying the speed limits. . .

Found a place to do it. The guy I got the motor from says that I use the Wires harness thats on the JDM motor. The mechanic says that I have to use the Factory harness becuase the JDM one is too short. Does any one know a thread or a link I can read up on this swap. I looked everywhere.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs. If you want to attempt the swap yourself, this will give you a good start. I would also start reading extensively in the 3rd gen section. If you're looking for a shop, post in the Canadian regional forum. Good luck with your swap.

dj - use your US harness. The JDM harness will not plug into your ecu. Searching on here will yield the same information.

Why? and depending on the year of the JDM harness/motor it may be a completely different ecu. The grounds are horribly spidered through the harness and I have not ever seen a schematic for one. I know several members on here have looked at it for some reason but gave up b/c it is just easier to use the USDM harness. Plus like mentioned above I do not think several of the sensor wires will not reach to the proper locations. If your old harness is worn out, I would just watch the for sale section for one in good condition or purchase a new one from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda.

In the end, it is up to you.
