rpm problems

rpm problems

My 1990 rx7 loses all its power at 6000 rpm, it redlines at 8000, any one know why its just giving up, and making a wierd noise, is it a fuel problem?
this only happens when i'm in gear though...

Could you describe the weird noise a little more explicitly?

its a hard noise to explain, idon't think i can, but it sounds like its struggling, some guys i work with said it seems to be a lack of air or fuel
